
The founder and President of Userful Corporation, Tim holds a Masters Degree in Industrial Design from the University of Calgary. He is a serial entrepreneur, having led various consulting, research, and design companies.
In his years before founding Userful, Tim conducted pioneering research into laptop and input device design. He also performed and taught as a professional cellist and co-authored a book on the subject.
Alan McNaughton joined Userful as VP Operations in January 2009. Alan has over 25 years of experience in product development, management and business development including work with Aksys Networks (VoIP phones), Rydex Industries (communications software), INETCO Systems (protocol and transaction software) and Global Thermoelectric (thermoelectric generators and fuel fired heaters). Over the last 10 years Alan has been involved in the senior management of early stage companies including with AutoBranch Technologies Inc (ATM business) which he co-founded in 1999 and most recently as Chief Operating Officer of Aksys Networks.
Bev leads Userful’s channel sales, business development and marketing efforts. With over 20 years management experience introducing new technologies to international markets Bev's career has focused on partner channels and technology alliances. Prior to joining Userful Bev represented the alliance of Canadian Telecom companies' business and technology interests in Washington DC, where she continued on holding global portfolio responsibilities for product marketing and management at BT and AT&T's global venture company Concert Communications; channel strategy and alliance management at Intelsat, and business development for Cisco Systems based in San Jose, CA.
In addition to Daniel's role as VP of Public Computing, he is also a member of Userful's Sales team. Along with his years of sales and customer service experience, Daniel brings years of systems re-engineering, change management and team leadership experience. From 2000-2003, prior to joining Userful, he led the project to integrate LexisNexis' print and electronic delivery departments and systems. The successful project retrained 110 FTEs and integrated three product delivery systems. Also while at LexisNexis, Daniel managed a team of 11 FTEs responsible for delivery of $3 million in products and a budget of $750,000.
Menwin has been developing software professionally since 1989 for Nortel, Pacific Blue Cross, and other clients. A former educator, he taught university courses in Computer Science and Software Engineering. Menwin's tenacious insistence on producing effective, quality software has resulted in a number of successful projects over the years. He is now involved in efforts to improve Userful's flagship products.
With his thumb superglued to the pulse of the computer industry, marketing savvy gained from many years in the music industry, and a background in corporate anthropology, Sean manages the marketing efforts at Userful. Prior to joining Userful, Sean spent his time in the reactor core physics division of Atomic Energy of Canada Limited where he helped design the next generation of CANDU reactors. Sean is passionate about environmental sustainability and equal access to information technology for every person on this planet, and he likes to share his passion with the world.
Since September 2009 Roger has been responsible for product planning, and execution throughout the product life-cycles of Userful's family of software products. Roger has more than 12 years experience in product management positions at international companies in the telecommunications industry including Zi Corporation, and Shanghai Ricoh, where he successfully managed several product lines for China and the global market. Roger holds an MBA Degree from The University of Calgary, and a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical Design and Manufacturing from Shanghai University of Technology.
